As a nation, we celebrate Republic Day every year on January 26th as a national holiday, which is one of the most important holidays in our country and has been for many years. On January 26, 1950, the Constitution of India was formally enacted as the nation’s governing document, replacing the Government of India Act 1935, which had been in effect since 1935, thus making India a republic.

The day marks the occasion when the Constitution of India came into force.
